Nice place to stay in Rome for a reasonable rate?? |
I'm going to Italy for my honeymoon in Sept.-early Oct. and we'll be in Rome for about a week... it's the only place we haven't booked accomidations yet..
I'd like an area that is either near most of the historic Rome sites or near the Vatican... in an area with older architecture. A less touristy area would be nicer. If you can recommend a certain area of Rome or a specific accomidation please do! I totally forgot about booking this one and I'll have to be doing it today!
Thanks!
Oh yea.. I'd like to keep it under or around 100Euro/night... being that it's a city I'm not planning to stay around the place too too much but I'd like it to be clean, private, comfortable and in a nice area. |

venere.com is a great site. for B&Bs check cross-pollinate.com Don't stay East of the train station, it's a bit sketchy. I'd recommend staying btwn the train station and the Tiber - not South of the Colosseum thou. |

The last time I went to Rome for tourism I went here
http://www.vatican-suites.com/
The rooms are nice and clean, it is in a good position (close to Vatican) and quite easy to reach with public transportation.
It is not an hotel. It s like renting a room but it is way cheaper for the position and the city.
The owners and managers are very unpleasant (like all Romans so I was not surprised).
Have fun |

I sugest you Eurostars International Palace hotel-via Nazionale no.46.It's a very clean hotel, with a wonderful breackfast and a nice staff. But the most important is that is very well located, just in the centre of the city, so you can enjoy during all day and night of the beauties of Rome. |

When we went to Rome we stayed at a nice B&B called the Angetode. It was walking distance to a metro station on a quiet street. The owners were really gracious. The rooms were VERY clean, big and comfortable as were the bathrooms. Room rates were well under 100euros and if you booked for more that 3 days you got a special rate.
good luck and have fun! |
