Hi there, I live in the town u r going to visit, which is Verbania because Pallanza is not a village but the name of one of its hamlets. For the best airline: you can easily fly Easyjet from Manchester to Milan Malpensa (the airport is about 60 km away), than get to Verbania by bus or by train. Surfing on the net you will find many hotels (try www.verbaniahotel.it) or you could decide to rent an apartment, which could be more distant (about 15 km from the centre) but even cheaper (try to visit www.appartamentiferrari.it). I hope that I have been useful ,bye bye and have a nice stay in my town:)

Try Booking.Com at the link below, they list 25 Hotels in the Pallenza area.
http://www.booking.com/
You could also try late Rooms at
http://www.laterooms.com

Note: The Italian sites spell the Town Pallanza.

Have a look here. There's a couple of last minute deals in Pallenza on offer :

http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Italy/Maggiore-and-Orta-Lakes/Verbania-Pallanza/

Otherwise, you can look at cheaper options abit further away here:

http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Italy/Maggiore-and-Orta-Lakes/

50 euros per night per room [ for 2 ] may do the trick, with breakfast depending on the time of year and the special offer !!

Hope it helps

I was married in the Lago Maggiore area in Varese. Check the Palace Hotel in Varese. It is a 4 star at a reasonable price. It is a beautiful location on the top of a hill. Varese is a modern Italian city. You will not find this hotel on line easily.
