We were going to do this last year when in Tuscany but decided it was to far. Anyway there is that much to see in Tuscany itself, my advice is to do what we are doing and go back to Italy another year.Have already been to rome for weekend from Rimmini we didnt see half of it.Hope this helps.

Tuscany, Italy is a popular destination for holiday travel. The region offers many choices in accommodations, including hotels, apartment rentals, farmhouses and luxury villas in Tuscany. Large city hotels or a rural Tuscany villa offer two completely different styles to fit every personality. Several large websites offer information including pictures and descriptions of various rentals in the region. Reviews can help you chose the best accommodations for your vacation needs.

For a day trip Tuscany is very far from Rome and you would probably spend most of your time traveling. I would suggest perhaps you look at another region - like Umbria http://www.cellartours.com/italy/italian-wine-regions/umbria.html Umbria is very similar to Tuscany but less well know and there are plenty of top class wineries there. Hope this helps

Do you not think it's a bit far away? I would stay in Florence and do a day trip around Tuscany from there, if I were you. Having been there, like.

Joyful
Yes you can go to Florence by train and be there in 2/3 hours but I really suggest to spend more time in this wonderful city. There is too much to see. But you can definitely have a taste of it in a day.

Be ready Italy is beautiful!!!
