i think if i had to pick 2, it would be one of Milan or Rome, and my parents hometown in southern italy. where i still have family who know me apparently

First of all, none of these three cities is really big. Torino is the fifth largest city in Italy, but Verona and Perugia are small.
Then, being myself Italian, I would counsel seeing Torino and Verona. Perugia is beautiful, but it's tinier and much farther south. The other two are more worth the shot. |

I would say Perugia and Verona because:
one is from central Italy and the other from northern and so you could see two different natural environments
both of them are artistic centers with great churches, paintings, musems and so on
the cuisine is quite different with great dishes (italian cuisine is very varied accordig to the places you visit) |

I spent a Month in Perugia while studying abroad and I LOVED it! A Lot of college kids from all over the world. It's the Heart of Italy and the only region that doesn't touch water. Assisi isn't far and a beautiful place to visit- I would defiantly recommend going!
As for Verona.... I have heard there isn't much to see unless you are interested in Romeo and Juliet.
I just Graduated from college and thought about studying in Torino. Everyone I know that went for the first time talked about what a beautiful city it was. |

i'm from turin, i've been in verona, never seen perugia
all strangers say that turin is beautiful, there is an egyptian museum and a car museum, some castles, some churches...
verona is more for young people owing to romeo and juliet, but there isn't so much to visit
perugia is beautiful and is not far from assisi (st. francesco church really really superb!)
i'd choose turin and perugia
bye |

Perugia for sure because it is very near to Assisi which is fantastic.
Verona because it has a small colliseum like the one in Rome ( just smaller) - also it is the home of the Romeo and Juliet story. |
