Planning a trip to Italy. Arriving Sicily, departing Venice. Any suggestions?

I have two weeks and would like some suggestions on the best places to go along the way. I've already been to Pisa, Rome, Florence and Venice, but wouldn't mind seeing some of these places again

in Sicily must see
Palermo(http://www.travelplan.it/img/palermo_guide.gif),

Valle dei Templi (it's great http://www.psicopolis.com/webmasters/dona/sicilia/agrig.htm )..

than visit Naples,

Pompeii (http://www.pompeisepolta.com/english/galleria1.htm ),

Ercolano ( http://xoomer.alice.it/maria.sannino3/Herculaneum%20history.htm ) (or also Capri in 1 day)

Caserta's royal palace(part of Star Wars was played there..it's rwally great,i've been there and the palace is really beautiful but the garden is one of most beautiful of the world... http://www.ambientece.arti.beniculturali.it/guida_reggia/Xenglish/guida/index.htm in this website you can make a virtual tour:from the map you see pics of the place, in english)

than can go to the Cinque Terre( http://www.puzzlehouse.com/images/webpage/cinqueterre3000clem.jpeg ) ( http://www.cinqueterre.it/en/index.asp ),

Torino ( http://www.turismotorino.org/index.php?id=512&navCmd=reset )

Bologna, paradise of Italian cusine, MUST try Lasagne,Tagliatelle al RagĂą,Piadina( http://www.orva.it/image/piadina_farcita.jpg ) and Bombolone filled with cream( http://www.ilcannocchiale.it/blogs/bloggerimg/2004918891952.jpg )...my good..( http://p.vtourist.com/1034396-Piazza_Maggiore-Bologna.jpg )

and than arrives in Venice...

it's a bit different from others tours but this way can see different things but always beautiful..

i think also that if you can must visit Sardegna, is the best seaside place of Italy (in summer of couse).

Ma DĂ i ?!!
hi! well, you can visit Sicily (Palermo, Catania, Siracusa), then go north and visit Naples and the surroundings. After that you can go to Rome again, then reach Tuscany and see Siena, Florence if you like to see it again. from there you can go easily to Perugia, Assisi, Urbino. Otherwise you can go to Genoa and Cinque Terre. On your way to Venice you can stop at Bologna, Padova, Verona.
good luck!

Try taking in one of the northern lakes. I was in Limone on Lake Garda two summers ago and it was wonderful

Sienna and the walled city of Monteriggioni

Awesome visits. Good wine tasting in the region as well.

Yeh, the food is great, in Sicily, but stay away from the rest

Bologna is an often overlooked, but fantastic city in my opinion. The only problem is it can be difficult finding accommodation, but if you can you won't regret it.

Verona, Ravenna and the Cinque Terre are all good stops for your second trip to Italy. Also, Naples and the Amalfi Coast area are great (the island of Ischia is one of the most beautiful places in Italy). It does depend on what time of year you're going though.

chiara
no offense, but going throgh italy from sicily to venice in 2 weeks is pure suicide!
In my opinion you shoud visit only one big "regione" (suggest sicily or campania).
believe me: if you want to visit it properly (and not get stressed) it will take 2 weeks.
here some places you may go in
-CAMPANIA: Naples (one week)..
-SICILY: Palermo, Monreale and the rests of greek cities(selinunte, imera..)
enjoy!

Jabberwock
Try Capri, it's a nice boat trip and a beautiful island. Go to Pompeii it is very impressive. Napoli was a bit of a disappointment for me. Sorrento (sp?) is beautiful, do the coast route.

The first place I'd put on your list would be the magnificent and beautiful Renaissance city of Siena in Tuscany, a stunning place, with a Duomo even more impressive than the one in Florence

I'd suggest Florence for a day or two just so you can gaze in awestruck wonder once more at Michelangelo's David...you can book online now to get straight in even when they're busy.

In Florence, stay at the Ostello D'allo Goro Hostel - one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in anywhere in the world, because of the owners!

then Assizi,Verona, and Cinque Terre for a few days before you head to Venezia...

Happy Trails
