Having only two days, I would avoid places with too long queues, i.e. Coliseum and Sistin Chapel. First day: Coliseum from outside, San Pietro in Vincoli (Michelangelo's Mose), Santa Maria Maggiore (all in the same area). When in Santa Maria Maggiore take a tourist bus (ticket 24/48 h) and you can hop off when you want. When in corso Vittorio Emanuele, go for San Luigi dei Francesi (church) and watch the beautiful paintings by Caravaggio. then walk around: piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, piazza di Spagna. Second day: with the same baus go to the Vatican and climb the Cupola: beautiful and queue usually not too long, then relax in Trastevereand climb the Gianicolo, where there's a beautiful view and you can visit a small temple by Bramante.

There are so many places to see, But since you are going only for 2 days, i would say you should see the Colosseum, Vatican city(St Peter’s Basilica,Sistine Chapel) , Trevi fountain and Piazza Navona for the lovely restaurants, painters and musicians.
