Plugs in Italy.......................

Last time I went I couldn't fit my straightener in the socket. Where can you buy those adaptors here in America for Italy?

don't use the straightener, nobody cares

Walmart (and probably Target) stocks them in the summer months. Outdoorsy stores like Academy would be a good bet as well.

.:B:.
Radio Shack. I've seen them at Best Buy and Circuit City.

you can get them in almost every supermarket in italy for 1.5 euros...then again italy uses three types of sockets plus German sockets in some households and regions, just get one when you?re there...!

In addition to Radio Shack, Target, and Walmart that have already been mentioned, you can get them at travel (lugggage) stores and at airport shops or at Brookstones. They are also available here in Europe.

However, before you plug in your straightener with just a plug adaptor, make sure it's dual voltage or you will burn out the straightener. Many of them are dual voltage these days and can be used both here and in North America without a problem.

Stan
Go to ebags.com or rei.com and type "converter" in the search field.

Here's a warning... American voltage is 110V and Italian is 220V. If you use an adapter and plug it straight into the wall it will burn up if it wasn't designed for 220V. They sell voltage converters that will transform 110V to 220V but generally they are only 50 watts so if you buy a voltage converter make sure that it provides enough power for your straightener.

Another option is buy one that handles both 110V and 220V:

Yet another option is to buy one in Italy but then it will probably only be useful during your foreign travels.

A hair straightener is a very high wattage device. If you plug it into directly
