Popping the Question?????????????? |
A friend and his girlfriend are going to Italy this summer on a group tour, and he was wanting to "pop the question", but isn't for sure when and where he should do it. He asked me, because I was there several years ago, but I'm at a loss. There's several places that they'll be, including: Rome, Capri, Venice, Pisa & Florence. He doesn't want anything too predictable (he doesn't want to ask on the gondolas in Venice, etc). They will be having dinner with their tour group every evening, so a quiet dinner is out. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Thanks for the help! |

The Gardens of Augustus in Capri is a gorgeous spot with views out over the sea. In Florence, there's the rose garden on the way up to Piazza Michelangelo - there are a few secluded spots there with views of the Duomo. The Boboli Gardens would be another possibility. |

I went to Italy last summer and there truely are so many beautiful places, so I can see his problem. Venice is a little too overdone. I personally think that the Colloseum at night time would be an amazing place to do. |

If he goes to Lucca, that's the place to do it- up on the walls looking over the town. If he isn't... then he should, but I think it'd be romantic to propose in a piazza or a church. |

Roman Forum in the twilight- at that point they don't allow any more tourists in and it's easy to be the last two people on the Forum. Another good place in Rome is park called Villa Borghese, especially the part of it overlooking Piazza Del Popolo (there is a beatiful terrace there that would be perfect).
