Italy's economy is very differential, just like the EU's. You have the rich North, and the poor South (Sicily, Cambria, etc.). The current financial crisis is hitting Italy hard, and it will be in negative growth til at least 2010. From there, it might fall it might go up. The upside is that now with the Euro, Italy doesn't experience large currency swings. I remember once the Italian Lira hitting a high of 800, and then falling to 1500 to the US dollar within a year. I'm thinking it will be better slightly, but ONLY slightly. |

in 10 years Italy's economy isn't grown, but stabilized...
depends on the government in power that is now left with berlusconi!

Right now the economy of Italy is pretty slow, similar to ours, one of the many reasons for this is the switch they had a couple years ago form the Lire to the Euro. I can't say what will happen but I am guessing that the economy will get better in ten years, maybe even better than it was before.
