Roxi

Romeo and Juliet?

Hi everyone. I know that the real homes of Romeo and Juliet are in Verona, Italy. Does anyone know if the places have an offical website that has travel information on it. Like tours and the costs.

Or any information you might have on the real deals would be a great help.

Thank you all.

Peace.

You can see the statue of Juliet and take photos outside the house for free. The entry fee is 3 euro. There's information at this site: http://www.seeitalia.com/verona/sightseeing/casa_di_giulietta.htm

There's some information on Romeo's house here: http://www.travelitalia.com/en/guide/Verona/579/. It's on the street behind the Scaliger tombs not far from the statue of Dante.

If you're going to see the houses, you should also see Juliet's tomb in another location. This is a very nice small museum. There's information here: http://www.cittadiverona.it/guide/monumenti/tomba-giulietta.php (|Italian) and in English here: http://www.travelitalia.com/en/guide/Verona/567/ It's a popular site for weddings: http://www.italian-weddings.com/destination_wedding_locations/veneto/verona/verona_wedding_hall_juliets_tomb.html

There's a small relief of Shakespeare with a nice inscription on the wall as you're leaving the old town through the gate in Piazza Bra heading toward Porto Nuova.

The real homes are in Verona, with the famous balcony.

The castles are located between Verona and Vicenza, look for Montecchio Maggiore.

The Giulietta's home is situated in via Cappello, near piazza Erbe, one of the most ancient square of Verona. You can find some information about Giulietta's home in these website

If you are interested about Giulietta's tomb . . . see here

This site shows for the locations of places in that the movie took place in. http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/Italy/Veneto/Verona-140824/Things_To_Do-Verona-Romeo_Juliet-BR-1.html

I've actually never been to Verona. I should go there sometime and see these locations.

They were fictional characters, anything claiming otherwise are just trying to fool tourists.
