Yes, you can! it's a canal sistem, so you can't be sick, you're not in open water...canals are very calm, you can enjoy them!
bye^^
edit: to go to murano and other island you don't t travel on the sea, it's a lagoon, and it's very calm, I really don't think you'll be sick.. |

I just got back from my first trip to Venice--and I usually get seasick at the first rise of a boat. Had no problems though. The vaparetto boats do roll a bit, especially if you take one all the way around the island or to Murano, but its a short enough trip that my usual illness didn't hit me. You can always just stay off the boats and walk through the city instead--that's the real way to see it anyway -- easy to get lost in the crazy winding streets, but go with the flow and keep walking -- its so amazing, you'll love it. |

Venice may be based on a canal system but if you wish to go to Murano or any of the other islands on the lido you will travel over the sea. I get motion sickness and took the relevent pills. I would take them even if you're just going on the canals as the Grand canal is very wide and so you can bounce about a bit.
Hope this helps.
From someone who has actually been to Venice!! |
