I live in Marche (near Ancona)... You could become my english teacher!!! I need lessons!!
Unfortunately, Italians don't speak english very well (above all in small towns...), so you should learn a little of italian to survive.
In cities like Ancona, Fabriano or Civitanova Marche you could look for jobs in important factories, with international customer services (Tod's, Genny by Prada, Elica, Angelini Pharmaceuticals).
Fermo isn't so small... 37.000 inhabitants. It's one of most suggestive cities in Marche. You could have sevarl opportunities in shoes factories (even important, like Tod's or Paciotti), in international customer services. Or offering, as free lance, a service in website translation.
Do you mind if I ask you why you go to Fermo from New Zealand? |

hi
try to go to Urbino, it's a really nice and historic city and there's an university there
here's the link for foreigners:
http://www.uniurb.it/it/portale/index.php?mist_id=1100&lang=EN&tipo=FRS&page=0124
this is in english so you can read, but the most of the website is in italian.. anyway, try to send them a CV/resume and see how you can apply to teach there...
the website gives you additional infos about Urbino, events in the city and historical information, culture, art, and so on...
Try, it doesn't cost a thing :)
hope to be helpful :) |

Unfortunately it is very difficult to get any job other than teaching English. If you are on the coast seasonal work in hotels is possible but not much more. Rather try start something on your own which is what I did. |
