2nd class on a regional train from Roma Termini station to Civitavecchia is euro 4.50. There are 2 - 3 trains per hour; the travel time is little over an hour. An intercity train will be a little faster (46 min ) and cost a bit more (euro 10.50). All the trains also stop at Roma Ost and some of them stop at other stations in Rome too.

Hello,
For 99 euros you can hire a private shuttle to pick you up at your hotel and take you directly to the cruise dock. You won't have to worry about getting to the termini station, catching the train and then getting a cab or walking to the dock. All this while handling your own luggage. Check out airportconnection.it. I use them every time I go to Rome. They pick me up at the airport and take me directly to the hotel. I don't worry about luggage or anything. I just sit back and relax. Another company that gets high reviews is romecabs.com. You can check out the website too.
You can take the train and it will be much cheaper but you must get to the termini station, which means either walking or taking a cab. Then you must get on the correct train, again, carrying your own bags and then walk from the train station all the way to the dock where your ship is, which is quite a long way. It will save you about half of what you'd pay for the private shuttle but it will be more difficult if you have a lot of luggage.
