I do not how old you are or how you are traveling but, I have an idea that you are backpacking and to steal from Charles Dickens when I was in Rome "it was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness. The absolutely best thing I did while I was in Rome was fall in love with an architect and he showed me the city through his eyes. Our first kiss in the Catacombs was so exciting. I went to the Spanish steps with a girl friend and three blocks from London sang "So Here we Are in Italy" by Everything But the Girl to us and took us on a pub run. It is a vary romantic place. The worst things that happen was the official hostel. It by itself makes the word pension(may be spelled wrong)sing in my mind. There was the Turk who tried to kill an English man and the bathrooms were the worst. In the restaurants bathrooms,or whatever they call them, I found a hole in the floor and a man urinating next to me as well as no privacy in other important areas. No prude... just need safety....was dry humped on the very crowded bus or underground I do not remember which but, what intrigued me was that all the people going to work just watched. My point-why would you want to go outside of Rome. Go to Corfu after and rest. But, what ever make a memory so you can look back like I'm doing right now. Thank you! (keep your hands on your money)
