You lucky thing! Sicily is so beautiful, I lived and worked in Taormina last year which is small, touristy but amazingly beautiful town. You must vist there even if just for a night ot two.

Cefalu is a beautiful seaside resort town with sandy beaches and a gorgeous old quater. Siracusa is an amazing city too...and Palermo the capital cannot be missed. It seems to have a love/hate relationship with people, but I love it.

The food in Sicily is amazing too...anywhere you go, you will be happy. Just be aware in summer time it gets very busy and hot!

if you are going to sicilia this summer, i suggest you should go to agrigento... to me it's the best city of the isle...
sicilia doesn't cost much and you will find tasty and mouth watering food everywhere...
people are very friendly!

If you like ancient history visit Taormina, Siracusa (Syracuse) and Agrigento. There are many Greek (Sicily was in Magna Grecia) and Roman monuments.

For magnificent Baroque monuments see Siracusa and don't miss Noto, which is very beautiful.

For the Norman monuments Palermo e Monreale.

There are nice beaches south of Siracusa. The old city center has lots of small pubs in the summer.

The tourist reception facilities are not much, it's not easy to find a restaurant, they have very limited hours. There are plenty of bars for a stand up snack. Public transport is not good. I have always stayed with relatiives, except in Palermo, and I would recommend a 3 or 4 star place if you want something liveable. Be careful of pickpockets especially in large cities like Palermo and Catania.
