climb to the top of the basilica best view in the city .its not handy but well worth the effort. and free. ask the price of everything when dining out . they add on a lot of exerts .eat away from any tourist trap.the plates of the day are reasonable value.and i also add watch out for the pickpockets, if you think something is a scam it probably is .split your money and cards into every pocket ,sock shoe whatever. |

Don't buy many things around touristic spots...visit something not so usual (like,if you have to choose between the Colosseum and a place you have never heard before, choose the place you have never heard before!)...
Go to Via del Governo Vecchio (near Piazza Navona)
Enjoy a great Guinnes in Druid's Rock Pub (near via Cavour, opposite Piazza dell'Esquilino)
Take a walking tour around these alleys: via del Boschetto, via degli Zingari, via dei Serpenti, via Leonina, via Urbana
visit MACRO and MACRO Future (contemporary art museums)
If you're in Rome on Sunday, go to Circolo degli Artisti (via Casilina Vecchia),there are vintage or Japanese markets in this period
San Lorenzo and San Giovanni are two nice areas to visit (every morning in via Sannio -near San Giovanni subway- there's a nice cheap market)
Try: Fassi's ice cream (via Principe Eugenio), Pompi's "tiramisù" -typical Italian dessert- (via Albalonga)
Don't forget the nightlife!!Here's a list of nice clubs...
GOA Club
Rashomon Club
Radio cafè (just on Friday nights -Fish n' Chips DJs-)
Rialto Sant'Ambrogio
Blackout (rock club)
Brancaleone
Micca Club (happy hour + market + DJs till night -just on Sunday nights-)
