I think the whole story's very funny, like a joke. All the things written about Berlusconi were true, and it's really time for someone to admit it.
I also think there was no reason to apologize. "Uhm, sorry if I told the truth. I know you're not used to. Friends again?"

Maxi Robespierre ii
Yes, I laughed as I read that. If anyone really wants to know what America thinks about their country check the CIA notes on google. They haven't got a good word to say about anyone.

Sorry to disappoint you, caro amico del Congo, but the phrase “political amateur” or in Italian “dilettante della politica” is precisely how Berlusconi defines himself. He came into politics about 15 years ago, after a very successful career in Business in order to bring Italy back to what we all hope will be a normal state of affairs. He has never considered himself a “politician”, but a “press ganged statesman”, a job he seems to be doing quite well. As far as the “scandals” are concerned, you should bear in mind that after the failed attempt of a virulent left wing to take power during the “revolution of the 70s”, the extreme left took a new tack and sent its “children” into the legal system. Since then there is a tug of war between the judiciary, the law makers (Parliament) and all the non-left wing Governments. Not very pretty, with lots of punches below the belt. It’s a purely Italian problem and sooner or later a balance of power will be reached, so don’t get carried away with the “scandal” theory.
And now to the core of your question. Italy will always be grateful for the Alllied help to end an unpopular war and get back to democratic rule. All Europeans know just how much the US contributed to this effort, we shall never forget it. Since then Italy has been a staunch ally of the US and a guarantee for the Atlantic friendship. Quibbles over so called biographies will not change this.
On the argument of “warmongering”, bear in mind the Italian are a very peace loving people, but when required they will defend their democracy and our way of life with force of arms, like it has been doing for over 50 years. Since the Ancient Roman legions united Europe and brought peace to the continent, we know that this very peace can only be defended by a strong army and a firm stance. Today’s enemies are international terrorism, fundamentalism, poverty and an endangered ecology. Italy knows this and knows it has to stand by it’s allies and it’s doing it’s bit, especially in critical parts of the World, where Italian peace keeping missions operate. All the rest is disinformation. La Pace sia con Te caro amico del Congo.

Sorry, but we have more serious issues to worry about!!!

Farm bred, grain fed, all natura
Quit trying to stir up trouble. The report clearly states that this was a biography copied from another source and was added completely by accident because someone failed to proof-read the inch thick report that contained it.

Who cares of what Washington thinks....they got already so much problems to mind about...that think to Italy...or not?Personally i could not care less and we know what Berlusconi is....not that important what other think about him or we should think is important what we think about Bush and Co?
