Transfering from Malpensa Airport, what to do in Milan? |
Ciao tutti~
I am transferring from Malpensa Airport and have 10 hours between flights (arriving 7:00, leaving 21:00) I want to see the city by this time. How can I go Milan city center (cheapest) and where to see and what to do, eat, drink etc. there?
Thanks :) |

The easiest way to go to Milan is to take the Malpensa Shuttle that takes you to Centrale Station, and it costs 5 euros. To reach Duomo, Galleria etc. you'll need to take the underground (yellow line), 1 Euro. Alternatively, you can take the "Malpensa Express" train that arrives in Cadorna station. One-way ticket costs about 10 euros but it's nearer to the very center: you can reach it on foot (about 30 minutes walk) or by underground (red line, 1 Euro).
I advise you to see at least the Duomo (Cathedral), La Scala (Theater), Castello Sforzesco (Castle) and, if you have the chance, The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie (but it's necessary to book in advance). You can go shopping in Galleria, via Torino and via Montenapoleone. Sorry but the only way to have a cheap lunch/dinner is to eat at MCDonald's or Spizzico!:-) Otherwise, any restaurant will do. |

Malpensa airport is a bit far away from Milan, but you can get a coach which carries you to the main railway station (stazione centrale).Once there you can get the tube to Duomo which is the very city centre. There you can just wander around downtown or go shopping in Via Montenapoleone.
Enjoy your time in Milan |
