you can take the train and visit some cites...Padua (padova), verona, vicenza, bassano, marostica,este,bologna...you can go to the Garda Lake (lago di garda) these are all a day's trip.
if you want to move for a few days you can visit toscana with florence or expetially if you are cattolic, you can go to Assisi (S.francesco and S.Chiara),san giminiano, gubbio...are very very beautyful!!
in the north west of italy you can visit two beautyful lake, the como lake (Lago di como) and the lago maggiore with his three beautyful island:isola bella, isola madre and isola dei pescatori.
If you want to go to the beach you can go to yesolo, sottomarina (but idn't like it) or rimini. |

Go look at one of the nearby Cathedrals, maybe look at how traditional masks are made, and then take a relaxing Gondola ride. Trust me, all fun. |

Venice is cool but I couldn't spend more than 2 days there. Too many tourists!!
I would recommend Naples and Rome. |

i loveeeeeeeeeeee Venice. It is so beautiful there! make sure you take a tour on a boat, it is very fun and it takes you through all of Venice. Also, visit the Piazza San Marco and the church. It's a lot of fun just walking around venice and exploring the little botiques and shops, and the restaurants and amazing! Also, take a gondola ride! that's a lot of fun. If you're lucky, the day you go it might rain, and if it does, you will see that the people of Venice will take tables and connect them all, so people can walk on the tables since the water surrounding Venice overflows. It's so amazing to experience the daily life of Venice!
You should also visit Caorle, which is near Venice. It's only about 20 minutes away. Caorle is sooo pretty! The long beach stretches along the town full of hotels, restuarants, botiques, and food markets. At night it is a lot of fun to walk around Caorle and visit the church on the hill and get some gilato on the beach! In the summer time, there is also a fair/carnival in Caorle, and what you should do is rent bikes from your hotel or go on those 4 person bikes and ride on the beach! |

Venice is a unique city built on water in the middle of a lagoon. Venice is one of Italy’s most beautiful and romantic cities as well as one of the most popular for visitors to Italy. The heart of Venice is Piazza San Marco with its magnificent church. |

Venice is interesting, but you don't need to spend more than a day or two. It's mostly a tourist spot. Walk around and take pictures of the gondolas, poke your head into a glass blower's studio and watch the process, enjoy a gelatto on the sidewalk, see the pigeons at San Marco square. (You can go into the church, but only if you're dressed appropriately -- skirts for ladies, no shorts.)
that's about it for Venice, really.
if you have more time in Italy, take a trip to Florence. There's a town you can spend a week and not see all the marvelous sights!
enjoy! |
