Two big questions about italy!!! please help =]? |
1) what is the weather like in Italy from Feburary To May?
2) how does the education system work there? like here we have kindergarden (4-6 years) then elementary school (grades 1-6 and 6-12 years old) then middle school (grades 7-8 and 12-14 years old) and then High School ( grades 9-12 ages 14-18 years old)
so in italy how does the grades and ages work? and if you were 15 what grade would you be in? what are the schools like?!
i know its a lot but i really need help LOL thank you! |

im italian, so i think i can help you!!!
1. it depends which parto of italy u r goin 2 visit!!
the north is generally colder than the south, plus weather is changing in the last 5 years...
i can tell you that february is still a winter month so it gets pretty cold.. about 10 degrees celsius in the north and warmer in the south.. march and april are warmer and may is usually a warm month!!! not like june, july or august..
2. school is the same as you wrote, except for high school!! here in italy we have 5 yrs of high school, so we are done with it when we are 19 (or still 18 for the ppl who were born from july to december of course)!!!
i attended one year of high school in the USA coz i was an exchange student.. so i know how it works in the US!!
here is kinda different. i remember that people who were born after the 1st of september were put in the following grade (i was born on march 25th, 1988 and im my grade there where people who were born from september 2nd, 1987 to spetember 1st, 1988). here in italy doesnt work like this: people who were born from january 1st, 1988 to december 31st, 1988 are in my class...
i think it should be clear now...
so a 15-year-old person(who was born in 1992) would be in high school, attending his/her 3rd year!!
italian schools are way different from american ones!!! you guys have school teams over there, while here schools dont organize anything different from curricular activities (sometimes there are some extracurricular activities, but there are not sports like in the US).. so if you want to do a sport you need to go and find a team or a gym etc!!! sport and school are separated as you can understand...
another difference is that italian school are much more difficult and harder than american ones, believe me!!!
i hope you found my answer interesting.. for any other question feel free to contact me!!

february to may?
it's tipically the spring weather... not so cold, not so hot... snowy on the mountains... often rainy.
schools?
kindergarten (3-5 yo) elementary (grades 1-5, 6-10yo) middle (11-13, grades 6-8) high schools (14-18, grades 9 to 13)
at 15 years old you would be in 10th grade...
a school day usually starts at 8.15 and finish at 13.00..usually from monday to saturday.. |

See websites below for info on the grades, ages and what school is like. Weather will be vewry different in different parts of Italy. You can use 4th website to look up usual weather for specific locations in Italy. When you know what city you want to look up, enter it at the top of the page, then click on "Trip Planner" just under the picture at top of page, then fill in the month you want to know weather for and it will give you weather patterns for that time. |

Hi!I'm an italian girl!So...
1)the is cold in februrary(but maybe for you will be not so cold!),but usually form march/april to may it is a mild climate.
2)about school:
kindergarden(our "asilo" 3-5 years, duration 3 years)
elementary school(6-10years,duration 5 years)
middle school(11-13,duration 3 years)
high school(14-18,duration 5 years)
15?You are in the second year of the high school(we don't call it 10th!) |

cIn February and march is cold but not to much in April and may is quite warm. In south Italy the weather is milder.
Asilo from 3 to 5 or 6.
Elementary school, scuola elementare from 6 to 11, diploma elementare
Media school Scuole medie from 11 to 14, Diploma
High Shool from 14 to 19. There are many types of high school.
So no grade at 15 you need to be 18 or 19 to have one. |

From February to May the weather is a little bit cold at North, while at South it'd be good. In any case it depends on the area you would like to stay.
Here in Italy we have the asilo (kindergarden) from 3 to 5, then elementary school from 6 to 10, then middle school from 11 to 13 and finally high school from 14 to 18. |
