why the bus???
Take the midnight train in venice..I think it departs at 4 minutes after 12 midnight, and you are in Rome in the early morning. Ferrovia dello stato is the website, find the best train for your needs. Trust me, reserve a seat, and its 1000x better than the bus

i think it's better to go by train...!it takes about 5 hours...

k.patro40 is right. I use the night trains for longer trips often. You arrive early and close to the attractions. The only thing I can add is that I while seats are cheaper, it's better to book a berth in a cuchette and sleep through the night. If the seating compartments are full, it can be uncomfortable and difficult to sleep.

Ciao!
You could go there by train...
http://www.trenitalia.it/en/index.html
It takes about 4 hours and a half and it costs about 55€
Or you could give a look there http://www.alitalia.com/ if there is a cheap fly.
Hope it helps you!

Ciao :-)
