Visiting Forli in Italy. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone! I am visiting ForlĂ in Italy on business next week and have decided to stay on for the weekend. Where would you recommend visiting around there?
Would you go to Bologna? The coast at Rimini? Or is there anywhere else that you would recommend visiting whilst in that area. It is going to be me and my boyfriend and Valentine's day so any romantic suggestions would be well appreciated!
We don't want to spend all weekend on trains so don't want to go too far away.
ciao.. :-)

Most of the Valentine's Day activities that weekend will be further from Forli than you probably want to go. Verona has the Verona in Love Festival for 5 days, but it's this weekend. However, Juliet's house and tomb can still be visited and Verona has a lot to see and do.

The Renoir Cafe in Polignano Milanese has love themed dinners in February that are pretty good - rose petal covered tables, candlelight, personalized heart shaped cakes, ..http://www.renoircafe.it/index.php.

If you had a car or can get a ride, I would recommend going to Cento on Sunday for the Carnevale celebration http://www.carnevalecento.com/index-english.htm. It's not far from Bologna and is one of the more important Carnevale celebrations here. They have a group that comes from Brazil to participate in the parade every year.

If you haven't been to Florence, it's only another hour from Bologna on the train. You can check specific train schedules and prices here: http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

Bologna is probably a better choice than Rimini at this time of year.

Ok, Bologna is very close to forli and it's quite a nice city to visit. In this period, I wouldn't go to Rimini which is a great place in Summer but a lonely one in Winter. However, given that you're there with your boyfriend, why don't go to Venice? It's not so far away and surely it's worth it!!You've just missed the Carnival there which is spectacular.
