Italy is an attack on all of your senses, but mostly in a good way.
The Italians are a mostly very laid back and social bunch.
Italy has a lot of political and social problems, bureaucracy being one of them, but that has been present for the last 2 000 years and doesn't seem like going away soon.

As a student you will absolutely love Italy and especially the center of Rome. Sometimes it will feel like you are really living life to the maximum.
Paying bills and making ends meet can be tough though because accommodation is outrageously expensive.

The food anywhere in Italy is the ultimate diet destroyer and yet the Italians are not an overweight bunch. The food....don't get me started!
Going out for drinks can be an expensive affair as Italy's pubs are some of the most expensive in Europe.

Saying all that, and weighing up the pros and cons, it will be the adventure of a life time, and an awakening to life and culture as you never thought possible!
Enjoy.

It's beyond words. I went to Rome in March of 2007 and stayed about 4 blocks from the Vatican. There is so much art and architecture to see and experience it is difficult to absorb it all. In Rome, surprisingly, there is graffiti EVERYWHERE so do not be surprised by that. The Italians are friendly people. I would plan to walk or take the subway in Rome. Navigating the subway there is incredibly easy because there is Line A and Line B. My friend and I are going for a visit in May of 2009. We plan to take the train to Naples and then to see Pompeii.

If you really want to experience italy you need to NOT stay in Rome, Florence, Venice or Milan...you need to go see those cities and experience them, but you need to concentrate your time in a small town. Your experience will be vastly different if you can relax and live the daily life of rural italians.

I went to Italy over the summer. It was AMAZING! I went to Pisa, Florence, Rome, Pompeii, Capri, and Sorrento. Florence was definitely my favorite place, but basically everything I saw in Italy was beautiful. The food is phenomenal. I wouldn't recommend going in the middle of the summer like I did because it was unbelievably hot on some days. If you go to Italy, definitely see Florence and Rome.

As a vacation over there i say you should definitely go. To live there i would love to but, i think you should find a very good job over there after you've gone then decide whether you'd like to go or not.

the best place in the world for whar concerns art, architecture, history. You would love panoramas and weather in southern Italy or the magnificence of alpes and dolomites in the northern. If you're a rich man it would be nice to live here. If you're not I think you better don't come to live here!!!

I live in Italy, in the north part of my country! It's a great place to living!
If you want to know about it could you contact me! Anytime I'm here!

I live in Italy... and, yes, there are a lot of places to visit! My favourite cities are Venezia and Florence... I find them wonderful and romantic...
And at elementary school they finish at 12.30, junior high 1:00 and high school in Italy is like college, it depends on what you choose I finish at 1:15... but we have school on saturday and that sucks...

I dont know your question is not so clear...however I'd never go to Italy, go there to spend a good vacation, or to study something concerning Europe or romans...but I'd never live there...
