you wont need special things, just light shoes without heels, in order to walki and discover thi beautiful country, and a book in order to have an idea what to see..
If it is winter, you have to take with you heavy clothes if you travel in the north..
In the summer also it is hot especially in the south. In case you go to the region Emilia Romagna, it is my favourite yes, but during spring and sumemr there are mosquitoes, so take a special cream(in some parts not in the whole region).
Be careful a little bit more if you travel to the south, in some destricts there is not heavy crime, but sometimes some robberies occur this is something usual everywhere...
Enjoy your travel |

It depends where you are going to but , if you are going to visit some of the bigger cities, Rome, Florence, Milan etc, be very careful on public transport - especially buses; gypsies (zingari) and immigrants sieze the opportunity of being crowded-in on the buses and are very adept at going through your pockets, bags, without you realising what has happened until it's too late! Keep your money, credit cards etc very safe.
Italy is a beautiful country and the Italians are very friendly, wonderful people and I hope you have fantastic trip! Buon viaggio! |

Bring some cardigans perhaps for an evening out (if you'd go in spring)Get a map of Italy, but you can get it there too.In the south of Italy, fish is always considered a good dish and it's really fresh.Try spaghetti alla matriciana.People are good and kind.I visited Italy few times and it was ok. |

Take advantage of the trains... when the cross walk is red DO NOT Walk, when it is green, walk with caution. Pedestrians do not have the right of way. Watch out for the gypsy kids, they are great pick pockets! |

Depends on what area of Italy you are visiting and what time of year but for sure bring great walking shoes because you will be doing some serious walking.
Be more specific and maybe I can be of more help |
