What's a reliable English-speaking tour bus company in Venice?

I know how a search engine works.

Last year I went on my honeymoon to Italy and we spent 4 days in Venice. I looked all over the web for ideas of what to do and found a couple of reliable websites:

www.viator.com

www.tripadvisor.com

I read many reviews about what to do on tripadvisor and ended up booking an excursion to northern Italy to see the Dolomites on Viator. The excursion was very professional and intimate so I expect any of the city tours would be as well. The guide spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable.

Have a great time!

Venice proper does not have tour buses. It's a series of island with canals running thru it... Boats, water taxis and Vaporettas are the means of transportation.

Search for a tour company online.. and you will likely find one that uses a series of public boats for transportation.

Good luck. Venice is a walking city.. lots of stairs, bridges and walkways.

you do not need any tour bus and there isn't any. Just jump on the water bus (public transit spelled like vappouriette) and stop where most of the people, tourist get off - be very careful of the pick pockets. Just walk around in the maze like streets and if you are lost, follow the sign at the intersection to go back to the Grand Cannel or follow the big crowd or just go into any hotels and ask how to get back to the Gand Cannel, the main artery of Venice. Get a good guide book and identify all the places you want to go to, some are are obvious. Rick Steve's book is very concise, easy to follow and relevent. I found the best time to walk around in Venice is the earliest in the morning when it's nice and quiet, the water bus just starts its runs and is not as crowded so you can sit at the very front on either side of the boat and enjoy the medieval buidings on either sides of the Gand Cannel, also the St. Mark square is very quiet with a few lonely souls and the pigeons fluffing in the early mornign sun with long, long shadows casting on the ground whereas later in the day, all you see are just mainly tourist!
