Having been to Rome several times, I would think around the September time frame is probably the best, where its nice and sunny with little precipitation, but not too hot.
Summer can be blisteringly hot in Rome, sometimes going up to 30-35C. If you can handle it, great, but you'll also be at peak tourist season.
Second pick would be late spring, End of April-May time frame, but I've always found that period a bit rainy.
Least amount of tourists is in winter, and early Spring. Temperature can drop to near zero temperatures, but normally never enough to snow.
I was there just two weeks ago, it was raining a lot and always 3-8 degrees C, on some mornings it went slightly below 0.. even saw snow, which is a pretty rare sight.
It was a little bit too nippy to walk alot around town, something which I like to do. Next time, I'm returning in fall... |

i know when u shouldnt go..avoid periods that conferences take place cause rooms in central hotels are hard to find and prices reise up.i went on octomber and was realy great cause it was really warm and sunny. |
