Spring and Fall are the best times. May till the end of June. Then Sept. to beginning of Nov. It is quieter and less crowded. There are no students there because they are all in school. The weather is delightful in the Spring and the Fall when I went this year was georgeous. I went the beginning of Nov. and all you needed was a light jacket. No crowds, no students, no waiting on line for exhibits, restaurants are less crowded and rooms are plentiful..Go end of Oct to beginning of Nov. You will love it. See, Rome, Venice and Florence...georgeous cities. Venice especially and Rome...it is totally awesome. See the Vatican and all the museums..very worthwhile. In Venice go to the Isle of Murano, gondola ride, museums etc. I loved Italy. I am going back next year. People are wonderful and friendly..and most speak a little english. Have a good time. |

I think April/May are the best months to go to Italy. The weather is quite warm but it'll chill in the evenings. Besides, you'll be travelling in the Low season so you'll avoid the hordes of tourists typical of July/August. I wouldn't recommend October/November as they tend to be quite rainy and cold, especially in the North... |
