From personal experience, from mid oct - mid dec it is generally chilly to cold. Last year travelling from florence to rome, it was about high teens. Recently I just came back from Rome and it wasnt as cold as the weather reports (online) say it is.
Basically, theres nice chilly weather during that time. |

I'm a pilot and we use this site a lot. You can enter date ranges and it will give you averages based on actual historical temperatures fro those dates.
I just returned from a month in Rome. In the time-frame you state, you state, I would guess that in mid Oct the range from low to high would be 45 to 70F and in mid Dec 33 to 62F. That's based on my experience but go to the site and plug it in and get the real history.
