it is just the sea that has come over the city and has raised so the city is seting on it its not dirty or clean its just sea it's usualy as deep as150 feet to maybe few inches

Up to a few years ago all of the above, and more they use to put there crap in there, just empty the bucks out the window. All the trash and wine bottles and beer cans. The city changed the law and now it's all cleaned up so the tourist can see the city. As far as how deep about 25 feet

it's just the sea....less polluted that other places in the world

They are slightly dirty and quite polluted and there are some things like rubbish as they are treated simply like streets ,but with obvious difference of course ,i know that they are rising at the rate of a inch a year but i don't know how deep they are ,have you tried searching Venice /water on google ,good question though
