I think Florence, Rome and Venice are 3 cities you have to see!

If you have more time, please visit Siena and Pisa in Tuscany, some little places in Umbria, Palermo in the south of Italy and the coast.
If you are coming in the summer please go to Sardegna or Puglia, to swim in our wonderful sea.

Restaurants are good everwhere. Every Region has its specialties. In the south are more spicy. Enjoy the thousands of way we cook italian pasta!

Shopping is quite the same: every city has a donwtown area where you can find nice stores. Thery are very similar.
Great cities are more expensive. Small town are cheaper. Sometimes they don't speak english.

I hardly recommend you Tuscany for the mix: art, culture, shopping, food, weather.

Florence! You can't beat the shopping and the food is spectacular. Oh, and if you have the time........there is also the Uffizi and the statue of David by Michelangelo.
