What are the best food value places in Rome, Italy?

I am looking for options near the Vatican or Via Veneto with the best food for the money.

My favourites are Alfredo alla Scrofa (the pasta); Alberto Ciarla in Trastevere (the fish); Bastianelli al Molo in Fiumicino (also fish); Shangri La all'EUR (the Buffet and pasta).

In terms of “value for money” in the places you mentioned, I usually go to:
Vatican vicinity: the “Ristochicco, Borgo Pio 186; a little more sophisticated to the nearby “Al Passetto di Borgo” or “Massa” just round the corner.
Via Veneto vicinity: to the Ristorante Mariano, via Piemonte 79; a little more upscale is the Girarrosto Fiorentino in via Sicilia 46.

Buon appetito

Id like to help you, but sincerely there r a lot of good places, and i cant choose one..! However everywhere you'll go, you'll eat perfectly: Italy has a lot of defects, but for the food there anything to say against!

I apologize in advance for my bad english, but im Italian, and i have to improve it a lot..Sorry!

Spero di esserti stata d'aiuto! Ciao!

Try to find the little places that are on side streets. Italian food is normally really cheap. You can get better prices and sometimes better food at places that are off the beaten path.

One of my favorites is Pomodorino. Address. Via Campania, 45/e Rome (RM) Tel: +39.06.42011356 Downtown. Just off the Via Veneto, near the wall. When you get to the top of the Veneto (at the wall) turn right (at the Grand Hotel Flora). Go about three blocks and the restaurant will be on your right. Good food, reasonable prices, some of the best pizza in Rome. Crowded with Romans, so you know it's good! Buon appetito!
