There is a winderful 'hidden treasure' on the Celian Hill, called the Case Romanae (roman houses). It's part of a street of ancient houses which has been reclaimed from the earth. Truly fascinating a very moderately priced!

Another interesting place to go (by foot is especially interesting because it give the chance to walk through some interesting residential streets), is the 'Keyhole of the Knights of Malta' on the Aventine Hill. I know it doesn't sound that fascinating, but actually it is incredible!

One other place which I went to which didn't seem to attract a lot of tourists but which was GREAT was the open air markets at Trastevere/Porte Portese. It's hugely interesting and really a case of 'watching the world go by' ... people from everywhere are there, buying, selling and it is sooooooo interesting.

Hope your trip is great :-)

Ponte Milvio!! It's a brooke where lovers tend to hang padlocks and throw the keys of them in the river in order to promise each other eternal love! :)

the scala santa - by san giovnni i n lateran
spirito santo church - on the borgo spirito road which runs aong the via della cond.... that runs into the vatican. if you're heading up that road toward the vatican - it's the road on the left. it was built in the 1200's and was once evena hospital where michelangelo was treated - good too as he did the art work -it's stunning!

Well you have to got to the Vatican city. it is absolutely amazing. another thing that amazed me was the Sistine chapel. it is very surreal. trevi fountains is also very gorgeous. make sure to throw a coin in and make a wish.
