The ruins up the hill from the Coliseum were pretty amazing. The major sites of course: Coliseum, Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, etc. |

There is lots to see in Rome and Italy has a lot to offer.
Do not miss the Sistine Chapel. It is truly awesome and you will feel that there is God around you. It is an experience you will treasure. Sistine Chapel is in the Vatican and technically not in Rome :-)
Do also see the Coliseum and the museums in the Vatican. |

The feeling of the city... just walk around the downtown area, look around, have an espresso, a maritozzo and a slice of pizza.
The monuments you should not miss are the Pantheon, the Fori Imperiali, the Vatican complex, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi. |

it really depends on what you enjoy -- i'd say teh vatican, st peters, the various churches, thepantheon, trevi fount. scala santa, collesium.... it just varies as toi your preferences on sight seeing. if you're a shopper you'll prefer that type of sight seeing :) i will say to walk through the Piazza Navonna with a bag of freshly roasted chestnuts and check out the art work - it's very "old movie" relaxing & enjoyable. |
