What are your thoughts on Cinque Terre? |
I am trying to decide where to go in Italy sometime during the first 2 weeks in Sept '08 and was pretty much focusing on Rome, Venice, or Florence, but a friend of mine went to Cinque Terre and said it was beautiful and well worth the trip since it has 5 cities. I had pretty much narrowed my decision down to Venice, so between Venice and Cinque Terre which would you choose and why? We like to visit churches and/or museums, sightsee, enjoying the architecture, do a little shopping with the local merchants, eat some good food, and drink some wine. My guess is that we'll stay 2 or 3 days wherever we go because we have other places we will be going. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated because this will probably be my only trip to Europe and I want to make the most of the time I have. Thanks in advance for your recommendations! |

Hi, I'm italian, I usually spend my summer holiday in Deiva Marina, near cinque terre...
Cinque terre are Manarola, Vernazza, Riomaggiore, Monterosso al mare and Corniglia...
I advice you to visit them, they are really nice, with a beautiful sea and a wonderful sightsee, everywhere...
I really advice you to go there, it really worth!!

Venice, crowded, but lots to see. A few days of go, go, go
Cinque terre, beautiful sights, amazing scenery, and a very relaxing time. If you can do both!!!!!
They are two completly different places. |

Take the change to visit Cinque Terre. It is a beautiful spot. But if you like to discover museums, churches and to some shopping it would also be a great idea to stay in a city like Genoa, which offers you ways to get to the Cinque Terre and offers you also a lot in the town or if you prefer smaller places check out Chiavari. I add 2 links for some additional research on the subject: |
