I'm Italian living in Italy and I visited often both Rome and Milan. Well, Rome is full of history, Art and there are more nice squares than in Milan. The advantage of Milan in comparison with Rome is that is clean, and transports work better. But Rome is far nicer and people are more friendly

You should specify from what point of view...

If you mean from a tourist point of view, I recommend you Rome definitely, even if Milan is not an ugly city, it can't be compared to the beauty of Rome, the eternal city, there you can find monuments from all over the historic periods... You never finish discovering Rome, every street, every square of the center is a wonderful art work... Moreover the climate is better than Milan which usually is very foggy, especially during spring Rome is fantastic...

Instead if you mean for living there, to be honest, I don't know ... Maybe Milan is better from the economical point of view...

to live or to tour?

I went there as a tourist and enjoyed Rome 100 times more. There is just so much more history there, I mean, you'd be crazy to even compare the two.

That said, I loved the Duomo (cathedral) in Milan and I have friends who live there and enjoy Milanese life.

if i had a choice to go to 1 of those places, id go Rome.
Why u might ask? Well, theres the colleseum you can visit, art museums (i love art) and lots of things to do ther like visit vatican city. Oh and because rome was the superpower years ago. so more sightseeings

hi! I am Italian. I prefer Milan because is the capital of fashion.
Rome is also beautiful, but I think that Rome is nice to visit and not live.
If you're looking for a country full of monuments, you have to go to Rome, if you want fun and shopping Milan is better than Rome
