beautiful city. a little too tourist-packed during summer and holidays but such a unique place. it's a wonderful experience to visit venice despite the mosquitos and crowds. if you go on some of the backstreets, you can truly experience the beauty. the city itself with its winding streets and canals is so marvelous even without the sites but they just transform it into one of the most spectacular cities in the world.

if my wife would let me retire in italy, it would be either in venice, pesaro, or vieste --- in that order.

Expensive, but completely worth every penny. It is a beautiful city. I have been there a few times and have enjoyed every moment there, except the pigeons, sometimes they are too much.

Romantic but too touristic and overprized for anything.

oh beautiful! i like how instead of cars parked outside peoples houses, they have boats. really great and cultural. a LITTLE touristy. but DEFINATELY worth a visit.

p.s. i love the food in italy! its so different then italian food in america. :]

I was surprised at how small it was really. I found some of the back streets a bit dank....but it was good to visit.
when I left the weather was lovely, but for the most part it was a bit overcast and wet.....
the canals are cool and the doge;s palace was pretty neat.
