I'm Italian and I agree with Taylor's Dad.
The Italian sentence is not grammatically correct and it's hard to understand its sense. I can guess it means "I would like to meet anyone who's nothing but himself", but it's really a strange construction... there's sort of an English way to say it (maybe an automatic translator, or an English with some knowledge of Italian)... in Italian we don't use very much the "nothing... but" construction.
Anyway, in a correct Italian it should be "Vorrei incontrare chiunque sia nient'altro che se stesso", even if a more fluent and understandable sentence would be "Sono disposto a incontrare chiunque, purchè dimostri di essere se stesso".
The use of "è" instead of "sia" is an error, but it's a very common error even among Italians, so most people don't consider it so wrong.
Another mistake is the use of "essi stessi", which is plural (themselves) referred to "chiunque", which is singular. |

The automatic translation obviously didn't work. This is a colloquial expression. I am not 100% certain, but I think it would translate as "I would like to meet anyone who is nothing but himself", meaning an unpretentious person who personifies "WYSIWYG" (what you see is what you get!).
Even if this is correct, I would have an issue with the use of the verb é following "che", as the use of the conjuntivo (subjunctive) form "sia" is preferred in that instance.
If a native speaker can refine that, I will stand corrected and try to be gracious!

hi I'm Italian... in English is "I'd like to meet anyone who is nothing but him-self"... In italian "chiunque" is singular and so it's not "se stessi, them-selves", but "egli stesso, him-self"
