What is generally the most laid back/friendliest city/town in Italy? |
I know thats a big generaliztation and that there is rude people everywhere, but usually there is more in one area than in the other. For example, in the USA the south is typically more laid back and "howdy ya'll" kinda feeling. So, what are some of the more laid back cities in Italy? Thanks!

I'm Italian and for personal experience I say, in particoular, I found extremely friendly people in the central area that comprehends Tuscany, Umbria and Marche regions but even most I think in Umbria that is the small region in the heart of our peninsula...but of course bad and good people is everywhere. |

Hi! I'm italian and I can tell you this: maybe the friendliest city is Naples. It's full of good-hearted people who'll help you everywhere and in any case. They are really warm! I don't come from Campania, I was born in Tuscany and I've been living here since the date of my birth. Tuscan people are really particular: they are maybe the funniest ones of Italy, they really make you laugh a lot! Italy is generally very friendly with strangers, but the south even more! |

You will find that most of Italy will do the 'howdy ya'll" with a Buon Giorno, even in large Northern cities. But to respond to what you ask, it is the same for Italy-the South is definitely more laid back. Seems that the South, no matter where one goes, is the place to kick back. Except for a large city like Roma perhaps. The smaller the town, generally, the more laid back. But again, Italy thrives on laid back-with it's long lunches, afternoon breaks, etc. |
