What is the best airport to arrive at if you are travelling to Milan /Italy?

There are actually three good options for Milan - Malpensa is the biggest airport of the three. It takes about an hour on the shuttle bus to get to Milano Centrale train station or 40 minutes on the Malpensa Express train to get to the Cadorna station.

Linate is closer and smaller there are shuttle buses to Milano Centrale.

The third option is Bergamo Orio al Serio airport. The shuttle bus from the airport to Milano Centrale takes about the same time as arriving from Malpensa - an hour. Bergamo handles a lot of budget flights, but there are also some to the other two airports.

The "best" choice depends on where you're coming from. Direct overseas flights will go to Malpensa, but it doesn't matter so much for flights within Europe. I fly through Bologna or Verona more frequently, but when I fly through Milan I judge by available flights regardless of the airport - there really isn't that much difference unless you're looking for shops in the airport.

Malpensa, of course. No doubt about that.

You can chose between Milano Malpensa and Milano Linate! But Malpensa is situated 48 km from Milan while Linate is situated 7 km from the city centre!

Looks like you have two options
