Well, I've been to Rome four times. The last two times I stayed at a convent. The nuns offer a bed and breakfast. It's clean, very inexpensive, and very nice. Consider it. As both a tourist visiting and at one time living in Rome; I offer this sincerely. On my last stay I did bring my own toiletries, towel, sheets, no big deal--just helping THEM more than me. If you wish to NOT bring this that is fine but PLEASE mention it.
After my stays with the convents, (I brought my children with me as well!!)I will tell you that I will never stay at a hotel in Roma again. The prices are outrageous! The convent I stayed at, DOES have a curfew for evening time, not late night partying please! (Just like you'd respect your great-aunt and HER home sort of thought process).
I stayed at Suore Di Sant'anna della Provvidenza there is an email provided. However it is best to NOT call! (I tried!) these ladies normally don't speak Ingelis (English) and so your message/reservation will possibly get lost. The website I am furnishing makes a great suggestion to fax, which is even better than email --just from my own experience.

These people below I used to book my first convent stay as I didn't know what to do, after I was in Roma that time I looked and got the info for my last stay...they do charge a fee--

If you are Catholic, use your "Catholic" network, and use the name of your Parish priest and/or Archbishop and if in a larger city and you have a Cardinal, mention him. It opens doors a tad quicker, but not always :)
Have a terrific time in Roma! |
