Rainy. Bring a small umbrella. Most importantly, bring good walking shoes (ankle hight booties are ideal) .We were there last November and I can tell you I would not go any other time of the year as the last two times I was there it was in August and June..it so incredibly crowded that you could not see anything without bumping elbows with somebody, expecially in Piazza S. Marco.
Best Bet:
At the central train station, purchase an all day ticket for the water taxis, that way you can go to Murano (a small isle which specializes in hand blown glass) and Burano (where they make awesome lace) plus tour the main island to your heart's content.
Don't get sucked up into the tourist traps there! Gondola rides are $80 to $100. Hop on the water taxi you will see everything just the same and can go anywhere for less than 12 Euro for the whole day.
Enjoy! |

Any time of year is nice!!! Especially Spring. But November shouldn't be too bad either. Temperatures will fair into the 50s or possibly 60s in the day, given a warm front and may be as low as 30 degrees. |

Venice in November?
Personally I find it can be a great time. I avoid the tourist months, May to mid September. The one day visitors from the liners are worse than any mosquitoes, smells or heat.
November means you will have much more of the city to you. It's often too cold for the illegals selling all the fake handbags so less hassle.
Yes the weather is not always your friend but if you are lucky and there is high air pressure over the region the views of the mountains to the north, always hidden in summer, are fantastic.
It is also a time when a lot of the poor quality restaurants decorate or close so less chance of being conned into what can be very overpriced basic fare.
Finally keep an eye on the moon, Harvest or Hunters moon can mean Aqua Alti, which can limit options for a few hours. Be prepared to be flexible. |

It's cold, the best time to go to Europe is spring. It's not too hot. But Venice is awesome! |

Yes. The weather may be cool to cold but there will be far fewer tourists. The canals also stink during warm weather (mid-May to mid-September). |

There's some good ideas here - just avoid the crowds in July/August. June or September is good.
I've also given you an Italian National Tourism website link plus some ideas on how to save money on accommodation which will be less in those months, especially on last minute bookings.
Good luck: |
