bed and breakfast places are NOT cheap....and neither are hotels (even the crappy ones). i suggest looking for a hostel if you really want to save money.

I will share one of my best kept secrets with you: there are no cheap hotels in Venice. BUT, there is a little island five minutes away called LIDO. When you live on Lido, whether for a week, month or year, you can buy a sea pass for a week. All the boats from lido stop in Venice--got the drift and Venice is 15 minutes away. See why my wife and I can spend weeks and months in Venice and not go broke?

Do not include dinners. lido has the finest and cheapest restaurants. There is one long beach, you ride bikes around the whole island. There is one fantastic Chinese restaurant run by two extremely hilarious Chinese girls and the oysters are the biggest and freshest because most of the locals are fishermen. . The olives are so big and fresh. Make sure you swim and bike a lot; the food is absolutely fresh and wonderful: as good as the food in Dubai and Antigua in the Caribbean.

Boaz.

Here is an excellent site with some wonderful options for U.

maurer paurer
if you check on hostelworld.com they have both, with prices. I stayed at Hotel Gioia, which was fabulous. keep in mind that places get booked there in the summer, so book early

we paid 160 euro for 2 nights for 3 people.
at least 50 euro a night in peak season for a cheap place
