ACTV runs the vaparettos in Venice. Fares depend on whether you're getting a single ride ticket good for 1 hour from validation (6 euro), a multiple ride ticket 12 hours - 13 euro, 24 hour - 15 euro, 36 hour 20 euro, 48 hour - 25 hour, or 72 hour - 30 euro. There are other options which are explained on the ACTV website. The site also has the schedules and a map of the lines. http://www.actv.it/english/navigazione.php?pagina=tariffe_vaporetto |

The answer is TOO MUCH: Euro 6.00. Follow conley39's advice about picking up a pass.
Once you get warmed up you'll mostly walk in Venice - it's the best way (unless you've your own boat) to see and understand the city. The freedom to walk in Venice is unlike any other city. NO CARS! No automobile / bus / truck exhaust to choke on (except the occasional puff of diesel from a boat engine). You will enjoy the peace of the city in the back streets where you'll inevitably get lost (but never for long... unless you've got an appointment!). Pack a comfortable pair of walking shoes and enjoy the city by foot. |
