It's definitely going to Castello di Rivoli, which you can reach by taking Bus #36 from Piazza Statuto to the end of the line and then going up the hill. This is an amazing Savoy castle that has been renovated by some extremely modern architects and turned into a contemporary art museum. From the castle there are fantastic views of the mountains.
If you're staying in the city center, you shouldn't miss the Egypt Museum. Also, have an aperitivo (cocktail that is expensive but comes with a free food buffet) at Caffe Roberto on Via Po if you're 30+ or La Drogeuria (at the end of Piazza Vittorio Veneto) if you're under 30. Go to Grom (in Piazza Paleocapa, which is just off Piazza Carolo Felice, which is just across from Porta Nuova station) for gelato (make sure to ask for a "biscotto" cone, not a regular one).

going skiing... but that's a distance from from Turin... uhm.. there's nice museums, like the egyptian one.... last year it was really nice cuz the olimpics were going on....
dont forget to have a "marocchino" (mareokeeno) at a bar... it's coffee with cgocolate and whipped cream... |

All in all there is a bunch of stuff to see. I suggest the downtown area, with the river area and a castle on the river banks. A square downtown with a caste in the middle of the square. The Mole Antonelliana, which is the former sinagoue and it is now a monument and a museum. The Superga Church on the hill that looks at the Rivoli Castle. Then you can go at the Rivoli Castle that looks at superga. Stupinigi and Mandria Castles. If you are from a flat land, then of course the best are the Alps. I hope for you that you get some clean air days. Here in Turin, there is a major pollution problem. We easely get smoked up as only if you are form Shanghai you have not seen worse. In that case you will not see the mountains.......and smell some stange air... |

Go see the copy of the Shroud of Turin that is on display. Otherwise, there isn't much there. Milan is in that general area and is quite interesting. It gets forgotten in the rush by tourists to see Venice, Rome and Florence. |
