Bang her on the floor of the Sistine Chapel. Imagine going at with all those terrific images above? Here is one things you can do that is as old as Rome itself. Plan a meal on each of Rome's Seven Hills. Plan it out so that the meal matches the hill. A special restaurant here, perhaps there a picnic lunch would be best, it is an ancient tradition, dining on each of the seven hills and it is suppose to bring lovers luck. Sorry, I wanted an answer in comparison with most of the ones you've already received.
I lived in Rome for six months and I'm horribly, pathetically romantic. Here are some suggestions:
1. the view from the Gianicolo ( Janiculum Hill, above Trastevere).
2. the view of St. Peter's through the keyhole (Aventine Hill, Priorato di Malta).
3. It's not romantic per se, but I love the Torre Argentina cat sanctuary.
4. Buy her a gelato anywhere.
5. The Galleria Borghese. Especially the Bernini statues (Apollo and Daphne? gorgeous)
6. The Bocca della Verita', a la Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn (talk about romantic!)
But, Italy is very romantic, and if this is her first time there, just a walk down the street will be amazing.
