Florence has its own airport but connections with Glasgow are not that regular. If you've the possibility to chose the dates here is a link with a few promotional deals

Otherwise you must fly to Pisa airport and once there take a train or a bus to Pisa (there are regular connections to Florence after any landing).Ryanair and Westernair are flying from Glasgow to Pisa,

There is an airport in Florence, it's called A. Vespucci. But there isn't a direct flight from Glasgow,but there is going to pisa with ryanair or british airways. Then Pisa is really close to Florence. Otherwise u can go to Rome, but it takes a lot to reach Florence because if u go to fiumicino airport (the main one), it is a bit out of Rome, so u have to take a train to get to Roma Termini and then take another train to Florence. So it's about 3-4 hours. If u go to Ciampino (the othe airport) u cannot reach Termini station but by taxi (and taxis are really expensive in Italy!). Otherwise if u go from pisa to florence it takes just 1 hour and 15 min by train. |

British Airways fly from Glasgow into Florence,its not a direct flight though, it goes via London Gatwick.

Gallileo Galilei Airport in Pisa is served by RyanAir, British Airways, and some others. After you walk out of the airport, you can catch a train (there's about one an hour) to the downtown Florence trainstation. The train ride lasts about an hour, but it is an enjoyable ride through the Italian countryside. |
