Nothing everybody can read on any manual, some insights for a middle-aged couple. Restaurants with good price/quality? Wine bars? Sigts off beaten path?

Sightseeing in Italy would not be complete without a visit to the picturesque city of Florence. One of Europe's cultural and historic landmarks, Florence has been an important center of development since medieval times.Visit the Uffizi Gallery, stroll the Piazza Signoria, spend the afternoon tasting Italy's finest wines, and enjoy a traditional Tuscan style dinner. If you like COOKING COURSE WITH DINNER
(Was so great.:-) )
During this course I learn how to cook a classic Tuscan meal. In a top notch cooking school participants will be able to make a four-course meal (starter, first course, second course and dessert) under the expert guidance of a multilingual chef.
The course will be followed by a dinner of the dishes you have prepared, accompanied by a good Tuscan wine and a fun and friendly atmosphere
TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:
Cooking Lesson From Skilled Chef
Traditional Kitchen Atmosphere
Dinner & Wine
4.5 HOURS

This looks as though it may help:

Another must-visit spot in Florence is Ponte Vecchio or the “Old Bridge”. As the name implies, the bridge is not just old – it is the oldest among the six bridges in the city. Unlike other bridges, this one is much like a street as it hosts a stretch of interesting shops and stores. A visit to this place will not only provide you with panoramic views of the Arno River. Instead, you can also tour the various jewelry shops along the Bust of Celini and the Corridio Vasariano.

Hope this answer will give you some help

in florence you can do whatever you want but life in bologna is really boring. there is nothing to do

In Florence I like Buco Mario's - I have never had a bad meal there and the service has always been very good. There is not much in Florence that is off the beaten path but when I go to Florence I always try to leave enough time to vsit Luca. Luca is about 1 hour or maybe a little more from Florence by train. It is a cute little town with an old medieval wall surrounding it. You can walk along the top the wall and look out over the surrounding countryside. There is a piazza in the middle of town where you can sit and eat and admire the old buildings. There is a tower in Luca with a tree growing on top!

Life in bologna is not boring. I'm Bolognese and I think you have to visit a lot of things: first there's the most ancient university in the world, but unfortunately i think you can't visit it. But the downtown is beautiful: you should visit Maggiore Square, St. Petronio's church, St. Pietro cathedral, the 7 churches of St. Stefano building and 2 towers: they are the most important monument in the city and if you go on Asinelli tower, which is the higher one, you can have a complete view of the city. Bologna has also very interesting museums: if you go to T.I.C. staff will give you some advice. Then you can go shopping in Via Indipendenza and, if you want to spend a lot, go to Galleria Cavour! I think that the kitchen is very good but if you go to typical restaurant, you'll spend a lot (so it's better if you go to McDonald's); but in Via Rizzoli and in Via Indipendenza you can find some nice place with low price. I don't know a lot about Florence: i just know the most important place to visit (Signoria square, St. Miniato's church...).
Have fun in Italy!

all restaurants are good in prices because if they would be too much expensive nobody would go there. In the centre of Florence you have to book in order to have a place in a restaurant because of the many people that are visiting this city at any time of the year.
In Bologna life is more boring, ther's no much to visit. There's one of the most ancient university of Italy. But Bolognese food is absolutely to be tried, lasagne, cannelloni al ragĂą, tortelli with spinach or zucca or potato or TARTUFO... delicious!!!
