Well, Italy is much safer and has much more culture. It also has a better infrastructure and public transportation.
Having said that though and although I am Italian, I always hesitate to answer questions like that for the simple reason that your question is too vague. What kind of travelling are you planning on doing? As far as nature, unexplored country, and wildlife, Brazil is much better. Brazil is also a different country and should not be compared to any European country but only to South/Central American countries to be fair.

A huge difference is History. history and culture everywhere.
Also climate, in Italy you have wonderful beaches but sky resorts as well. Awesome food, more modernity, ...lifestyle is so much better.

Italy is better in food man their food is so good, cleaner roads and great monuments.

MAtteo is rude rude and rude. He is the one that should apologize. I am braziliam and I am not a tramp. Maybe his wife is. Anyway, I have never been to Italy, so I can not compared. Besides I do not believe we can because the countries are totaly different. I agree with the person that mention history. Italy has a lot of more history than Brazil. It is an older country, for Gods sake. BRazil was colony of Portugal for many years and it took a long time to develop. Anyway, North of Brazil, cities like Fortaleza, NAtal, Joao Pessoa are absolute a paradize. I trully reccomend. You have the stand carnival, and the stereothipe, but it is a good place to go if you pick the right location

if u talk travel wise, just let u know italy has 40% of the total art in the world... best shopping, best weather, best food in the world, more secure (even if u have to watch out anyway), best cities (history give 'em an unbelievable touch), more welfare, Italy is simply amazing
u can c a lot of pictures of the brasilian beaches... some places in italy r even better (sardinia, sicily)

Are different cultures and what is in a country may not have in the other. They have in common is that Brazil has the largest number of Italian outside Italy, are 30 million descendants.
