There's plenty of standby deals around on this site : http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Italy/Milan/ and http://www.hotelsitaliano.com/Italy/Milan/

Make sure you use the maps for location finding. You can sort the results according to your preferences.

The Hotel Principe di Savoia is wonderful but expensive. Milan has a great metro so you can find cheaper hotels away from the main attractions and take the metro. I also stayed at the Hilton which is not centrally located and took the train everywhere. Over the years I have stayed at a number of small family run hotels that were hit and miss, but generally okay since I don't spend much time in my hotel room. I think getting a hotel near a metro stop is most important. I would think most hotels in Milan have heat.

hi i dont know how big is your budget for the hotel but sure for the centrally hotel will be very big.
some name.. PRINCIPE DI SAVOIA.
if you would like cheapest but good one is in viale monza tube station called turro. (red line sesto san giovanni direction)
near the train station are usually expensive the cheapest one in that zone dont have a good reputation unfortunatelly

Read the reviews here:

It has the widest selection so you should be able to find plenty in the central area.

I would not have though centrally heated hotels are a bit thin on the ground in Italy?

http://italy-tourism.blogspot.com/2008/09/most-popular-hotels-in-milan.html

read this blog post, I selected Berna Hotel from this list and that was great hotel and I truly appreciated the recommended hotel list in Milan.

I did not face any difficulty when I was Milan in January (2008)

Naturmystikk
Hotel Spadari Al Duomo‎

Is stayed there recently and it was fantastic. Quite expensive though. It's close to all the main attractions like the Cathedral (Del Duomo) and all the shopping.

They are literally hundreds of hotels in Milan.

Just do a bit of research - search "Milan hotels" in a search engine!
