It is the ground underneath that isn't stable so the tower began to lean...i visited the tower last year on a tour and the local woman who was giving us the guide told us that the tower will not fall as the tower is actually banana shaped! |

It hasn't, Just went there not to long ago. It doesn't even lean that much any more. But it is beautiful!!!

it didn't. it's still standing. construction was started in 1173. and it took 200 years to complete. it's closed off now so you can't go up inside it. they even tied it to some near by buildings to keep it from falling any more. i did go inside it twice. that was in the 1980's. |

It didnt fall. Over the years, it has tilted because it is so high and thin. The structure is not strong enough to support itself. |
